Couple questions and comments for you, coming from a longtime listener first time caller.
First, I was watching a football game with my 7 year old son the other day and he asked me who I was rooting for between the Ravens and the Cardinals. Having been born in Cleveland in the late 70s, I struggled to explain to him the complicated feelings that come with loving the Browns and the many ways we’ve had our hearts broken through the years, including when the team left for Baltimore. Do you have any advice on how to impart the beautiful agony of a Cleveland sports fan to a youngster?
Second, I just got the Maximum Larry course and I want to incorporate it into a practice routine that’s reasonably organized. Can you shed any light as to a particular practice routine that you follow? How you might think about using the nuggets of musical wisdom from your course to work on particular skills, to get the most out of the time in the woodshed?
As a side note, I discovered you around 17 years ago when you posted your “Tom Bukovac and his Original Senn Fullerton”. Hearing that piece of music was life changing. In my mind, you joined my personal pantheon of the greatest guitarists. I was a struggling jazz guitarist who got a little too obsessed with Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Grant Green, etc., graduated from a music conservatory in a jazz coma, cemented into the constraints of that one musical genre. Your music broke me out of that rut and allowed me to find my way back to my own voice.
It was too late for my own music career and I ended up going down a different path, but always admired the conviction and ability it took for you to become the consummate Session Man while staying true to your voice. Your generosity in sharing all your knowledge and insight is like a musical lifeline for me and I’m sure many others in the Homeschoolin community. I just wanted to offer my sincere thanks for everything you’ve done the past several years and hopes that you’ll keep it up.
I am a years long fan now of you and Guthrie. I live in Seattle and
am semi retiring (I hope) and was thinking about moving not TO Nashville but
probably semi rural. Close enough to get into town to see music. I play guitar (mid-intermediate level) but I am not moving there thinking I am going to play. I am moving there because I like live music. I may fly out in the coming weeks, late Oct/early November. Can you recommend any areas up to 45 minutes to an hour outside of town to the north, east or south of the airport that are safe, low crime and on the cheap sunglasses side of things? I need a town where when I drive to your gigs I can come back home and my guitars and amps are still there.
I’m very new to the party but am already on episode 109 and you are the greatest human I have ever found on the YooToobe.
I love the seemingly random, but amazing insights that appear from many years perfecting your craft. But even more so (like most here I would imagine) I love just watching you just “chat shit” as we say in the UK. You are a charisma machine good sir, and you seem like a genuinely wonderful human. So thank you for sharing some of yourself and some of your time with us.
I am also wondering what is the most effective way to support you/say thank you for those of us across the pond? I am looking forward to the new T-Shirts! But is the best way? Or PayPal? Or merch etc?
We have a mutual friend Steve Haley and I know you guys talked a lot. Please contact me back when you can. Im trying to get ahold of you in different ways so I’m trying this here and hopefully you will see it. I am his friend that’s been making a record with him. Thank you
Hello Tom,
Hope everything is going well.
Maybe it is a stupid question, but in a episode of homeskoolin i saw a song sheet that looks like a calculation sheet without notes. But it is a song sheet . Would be fine if you can explain that sheet.
Sorry for my bad English.
Best regards from Germany

Dear Mr. Bukovac –
First, I thoroughly enjoy your music, playing, web presence, humor, wit, insights, etc., your calm demeanor in a troubled world is a balm and a rare pleasure. I have two questions to ask you. I lived in your wonderful hometown from 1995 until the end of 2000. I had a terrific time there, made many lifelong friends, it made me a better person. We lived in Cleveland Heights not far from Heights Guitars which is no longer, and it became my Floyd’s Barber Shop, a great place to hang and shoot the shit. I even bought a few guitars there. There was a guy who worked there, a very fine player who I often wonder about who left towards the end of the decade, I believe for the west coast to seek fame and fortune that I was wondering if you knew or crossed paths. His name was Dave Heeman or Heman, not sure of the spelling. And you were gone by then as well? It’s a long shot but I thought I’d ask.
Secondly, there’s another guy I want ask ask you about, someone I found on YouTube a good while ago who posted some incredible stuff and then vanished, who has now reappeared somewhat. Andy Most? I thought he was in Nashville. Do you know anything about him? He plays great, particularly on a cool demo called Frantique that is a killer track. He showed up a little while ago on a podcast video with two women talking about pedals. It’s very odd. There’s a story there, I was wondering if you knew it.
Thank you again. I hope I get to see and meet you sometime. I do get to Nashville on occasion, a wonderful place as well. Bunky
Uncle Larry, this one’s just for the hell of it: imagine we’ve got to leave this rock and start again from scratch. You’re on the ship and you’re tasked with selecting five other individuals to start humanity’s musical journey over again. Who do you choose and why? Thanks brother, much love to you and all the family
Live your phrasing and willingness to share your advice and experience with us!
I’m looking to add a multiple effects pedal to my board. I notice you and other Nashville session guy favor the Line 6 M9. Any reason you haven’t started incorporating the HX line 6 line? Also the M9 pedals are getting harder to track down, any other options you may recommend?
Hi Tom, I’ve been following the Home Schoolin’ videos for a few years now and they’re great! I hoping to find a schedule of upcoming shows where one could see you play live. I didn’t see anything on the website. Sometimes you announce a show on your youtube videos, but often the date has passed by the time I see the video. For example, I saw that you were at DPAC in Durham, but wasn’t until the show had come and gone by the time I learned about it.
Question: Do you have a schedule for live shows on the website?
Your take on the negative reactions to the “Trump you’re an asshole” t-shirt was spot on. Screw them if they can’t take a joke. And they’re being hypocritical if they say he’s not. At least own it and be like “yeah but he’s our asshole” keep rockin’!!! Love the show!
Thoughts on Nels Cline of Wilco? He gets pretty jazzy, but his playing and tone on Impossible Germany are *chef’s kiss*.

Hi Larry,
I just purchased a Boss GE-10 on Reverb and was wondering if you did any other mods to yours other than the bypass foot switch mod.
Thanks for your help,
Pat
Hey Tom,
Were there any other mods you did to the Boss GE-10 other than the bypass foot switch?
Thanks,
Pat
