  1. Hiya… any chance of getting the contact for the seller of the 52 GT ?
Just sold a 57 Strat and the plan is maybe an early GT…..hopefully no issues but at the right price a worn one could be of interest.

  2. Hey Uncle Larry, sorry for the gear question, How´s that Marshall ST20H(5881) you´re using now in the studio? I know it might not compare to a JTM or JMP.
Been thinking of getting that or a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 50/100(6L6´s).

Also on another topic, have you played your boys Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida? My dad played me that when I was 4 in his car and freaked me out, good times.
    Cheers!

  3. Hey Tom! Big fan of the YouTube channel and really enjoy your perspective on things! I’m a musician and producer based out of Tulsa, OK and I’m at a bit of a crossroads between getting out of music completely or moving to Nashville to do it for real. I’ve started doing some YouTube content mostly where I recreate classic records and then afterwards talk about how I did it and what I learned in the process. My main goal is to educate and inspire a new generation. I like to touch on topics such as detailed listening, the importance of “feel” over sound, etc. Guys like you and Rick Beato are really doing a great work steering the ship back away from the direction music has largely headed in recent decades and my goal is to simply join in the battle and contribute in any way that I can. If you feel so inclined to check out any of my videos and give me your thoughts, criticisms, encouragement, etc. that would mean a lot and I won’t take any of it lightly! Greatly appreciate your time! https://www.youtube.com/caderoberts

  4. Hey Tom. My son is 5. Is that too early to start him out on guitar? Did you encourage your son to begin guitar or did he just gravitate towards it naturally?

    • i never pushed it on him at all…i just left instruments around and he picked it up on his own…around 6 or 7

  5. First of all I want to say terrijfic blog! I had a quik question whiich I’d like to ask if you
do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear yourr mind before writing.
I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thughts in getting my
ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10
too 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
    Manyy thanks! https://ukrain-forum.biz.ua/

    • you gotta drive down miles and miles of shit road before you get where you want to be…
      that goes for everybody

  6. Tom..thanks for the Nolan Ryan commentary tip, watched it, awesome!!
Also, I listened to some Wade Bowen after you wearing his shirts and mentioning him, I enjoyed the tunes I listened to and will listen to more..thanks for all your sharing, never stop !! You also made me chuckle when you mentioned younger viewers, not us old farts, over 50 and men.

  7. Dear Larry,
Should I change or leave the plastic bridge on a 1963 Epiphone Texan?

If I should change it, does the type of wood make a difference (mahogany, ebony, etc.) + should I leave the adjustable bridge?

  8. Hey Uncle Larry,

I noticed that in many of your Gibson guitars, the bridge is set very close to the body. I was wondering if that’s how you choose a guitar—one with the bridge as close to the body as possible. Is that one of the secrets to choosing a good guitar?

  9. Sorry if this is a non-issue, but before a good pool man, please make sure the boys have swim lessons. Maybe even someone to tech their friends so everything is good for your fam and all young visitors.

  10. Hey Larry,

I noticed the black chuck T’s are part of your signature style. But I have to ask, do your knees and hips not kill you at the end of the day?

Man, maybe I’m getting old. I have to wear what the utes call “skate shoes” just so I can get some damn padding under my foot. I’m worried the next step might be the New Balances.

    Have a great summer.

  11. Been listening to Herman’s Gutierrez’s new album for the past 2 days and love what you brought to the multiple cuts you graced. Can’t say enough about how wonderful their music is and how it makes me feel. Happy to know you were a part of it.

  12. Hey uncle Larry!
I’ve been a longtime fan! Live your videos and the sage-like advice you share, it has helped me on my guitar journey quiet a lot!

My question for you is, how do you stay motivated, positive, inspired and forward thinking in music?
I feel extremely beaten down from my band recently imploding after a good two year rise and feel like all of my creativity and confidence has been sucked right out of me. I feel like I’m just in the same cycle of starting something and hating it, trashing it and starting again. How did you get through your burnout and how did you maintain your love of the craft of music? I’m having a hard time even listening to music and feeling inspired.

Love your videos! Keep crushing it and the next time I’m in Nashville drinks are on me!
    -Sean

  13. Hi Uncle Larry,

I just saw your (The Cockeyed Knight) chess video and couldn’t help but notice you said you’re 1100 ELO. My son really loves chess, he’s 6 years old and he’s about 1100 ELO at Blitz, Rapid and Bullet. He’d love to play you! This is not a joke, he’s a chess wizard and is always looking for new friends to play 🙂

  14. Every have some one try the partial refund on ya uncle Larry or this guitar isn’t good for the type of blues I play?

  15. Larry,

I have a 1965 Super Reverb that needs a little tune up. I live in southern IL (3.5 hours from Nashville). I planned to take it to a pro in Nashville, as I want it done right. Who would you suggest?

  16. Hi Tom, I bought a 64 player Epiphone casino recently and was checking the eletronics. Apart from cleaning the pots do you remove 1960’s dust or do you just leave it? Altona beach,Melbourne Australia

  17. Who is Larry’s favorite movie monster? always been Creature from Black Lagoon guy.

bet he was a great player with those big mitts.

  18. Please help. I’m addicted to Teles, Tone chasin, the gear page , klondikes and THOTS. Any advice
