  1. Tom,

I’m looking to try something different in the bridge position of my tele. I agree with you that Danny’s 60 Tele Custom is the tele tone I’ve always wanted, but it ironically has its own flavor that’s makes it unique and miles different from any other tele. What would you say tonally is different about that guitar that makes it stand out? The video sounds like it’s a little hotter pickup than normal, but it’s still crystal clear in its own way. Almost like if SRV’s main guitar was a tele. Thanks for everything, brother.

  2. Larry!
If you had 2 hours a day to hold the guitar in your hands (call it whatever you want, practice, play, noodle,) with what you know today and all the trial and errors over the years, what would you do? How would you spend that 2 hours that when you get up you know any more playing would be in the diminished returns territory?

    Respect ~
    Alan

  3. You don’t seem to use compressors on your board. I’m fascinated by this! Thanks for the videos

    • in a big country dreams stay with you…like a lovers voice cross the mountainside….
      were there other songs?

  4. Hi Bucho; I know of some older keyboards for sale .An old wurlitzer ,fender rhodes , an old moog, and a few more. Just wondered if you might know of anybody who would be interested in them.I’m helping a very sick friend who aquired them when his brother died of covid. his brother was very good friends with Mark reese. There is also some old marshals, a supro that i’ve never seen, a portable hammond B3 . There is also a tub of what looks like brand new parts for marshals.I know your a busy person .Just wondered if you would be interested or know someone who is.Mark Reese has seen all of this stuff. In fact he took some of the parts but is bringing them back.If you can help or not .Thanks again for the only real channel on you tube.I love your sense of humor. Also thank you for the release of new and refreshing music. It ain’t no rubbish.

  5. Love watching your channel. Look forward to it every day. Would be great to see you do a video on stacking pedals for clean, dirty, lead, reverb, delay, etc. I’ve seen your rig rundowns, but don’t spend a lot of time on it. Thanks for all the time you invest!!!

  6. Hey Tom- Thinking of raising the P90s on my Casino. How much clearance between the pole pieces and the strings do you think is good?

  7. Don’t apologize for withstanding bad live music out west! Lol! Don’t forget though, living in Nashville is an embarrassment of riches that we mere mortals west of the Green Hills Shopping Center can’t experience.

  8. Dear uncle Larry,
First of all I want to thank you for you very generous, inspiring videos. I’ve followed you from the first video and you’ve changed my view of music.
I’ve bought a Duesenberg Starplayer TV Custom and I really enjoy playing the guitar.
But I’m thinking of changing my amp, I have a Fender Twin Reverb at the moment. I enjoy the sound but I wonder if another amp would increase the potential of the guitar+ the twin reverb is so heavy to travel around with.
I know you’ve talked about Marshall amps, do you think a Marshall would be a good mix with my Starplayer?
    Greetings from Sweden, br Johan

  9. Hi Tom, I have been wondering how you feel in regards to ‘Gibson 50’s wiring’ upon guitars? Many seem to claim it’s crucial, yet run Strats and Teles without it, so is it dependant per guitar – I have both and certainly think that maybe so.
Thank you for the insights into playing and gear, this guitar thing never gets boring when the passion is there.
    Regards,
    Ethan.

  10. Uncle Larry – What are the top things you would tell someone to have all their ducks in a row when they bring their songs/album to a Nashville studio – so that all goes swimmingly with the session musicians, the mixing engineer and the overall process in general? Highly value your feedback on this as I am about to do this myself.

  11. Hey Tom ….. your guitars always sound really good …. Any thoughts on a “ Woofy “ low e string up past the 7th fret ? Do you avoid those notes up there ?

  12. Hey Tom,
Love what you’re putting out there into the universe. Are you a Chris Whitley fan? I think his album Dirt Floor is a masterpiece and can’t help think you would dig him. Same with Din of Ecstasy. Fucked up tunings, wacky chords and harmony and some of the most thought provoking lyrics and vocals I have ever heard. He died way too early and I fear he is being lost to time!✌️

  13. What’s a guitar that you buy an eventually sell over and over again? Jazzmasters? Gretsch?

  14. Hey Tom. Is there a way to see when you are joining guthrie at a gig? I would like to have seen yall a few nights ago.

Also, What amps do you have for sale? Thank you

    A HomeSkooler

    • i don’t have anything for sale at the moment…the live gig thing around here is very impromptu

  15. Tom, a question for Uncle Larry please, I just watched the Home Skoolin’ post with Marshal playing “Amos Moses” and would like to hear Uncle Larry do “Georgia On My Mind” ala Jerry Reed. If there’ a nylon string guitar in the house that would be way cool too. Could you please pass this along for me. Peace out brother.

  16. Hi Tom – I’m a pretty stoic guy, but when I heard you play “Wait” by K’s Choice my laptop
got drenched. You are something else.

  17. My husband and I live in Franklin, TN. He’s a huge fan of yours and of Homeskoolin’! His birthday is coming up — do you do private lessons that I could gift him with as a surprise?
