Just wanted to drop a line and say hi. I was reminiscing about the good old days and really miss watching you bend it with Catch-22 at Filthy McNasty’s at Kent State. My hearing still hasn’t fully recovered!

We’re two guitar players from Argentina who are riding our motorcycles from Miami to Sturgis, with a stop in Nashville along the way.
We were wondering if there might be any chance to meet Tom, even if it’s just for a few minutes. We’d simply love to say hello, thank him for the countless hours of inspiration we’ve gotten from Uncle Larry, and give him a bottle of Argentine wine as a small token of our appreciation.
We’ll be in the area between July 30 and August 18. We completely understand if he’s busy or if it’s not possible, but we thought it couldn’t hurt to ask.

Hey Larry. I just bought my first vintage guitar, and it’s a birth-year guitar! An all-original 1963 Gibson J-45 ADJ in cherry sunburst. No cracks, no repairs, faint checking. Fingerboard and frets in great shape. Plays great and sounds fantastic. What’s your take on the adjustable bridge. Love ’em or lose ’em?

Hey Larry, i’ve watched every single Homeskoolin’ episode and I know you’re a fan of the mid-60s Epiphone Wilshires – however, i’m just curious what you think of the mini-hums from those guitars? I have a 65 wilshire and have been toying with replacing the mini-hums with something of the same route (like firebird pickups). I know in general you like firebird pickups more than the mini-hums, but do you think those particular mini-hums are worthy of replacement? like falling in the category of pickups that just objectively aren’t that great. don’t really feel like modifying the guitar if that’s not the case.
Hey Uncleist Larryist quick question about your Princeton and M9 setup. When you’re using the M9’s Reverb, do you also leave the Princeton’s onboard reverb on, or do you turn the amp reverb off and let the M9 handle it? Thanks!

Hey Tom! I only discovered you recently through a few interviews, and I have to say you seem like a really funny and relaxed guy. Your playing is absolutely killer.
I’ve been playing guitar for quite a while, but I feel like I’ve hit a plateau and I’m trying to figure out how to move forward. I’m actually considering getting the course you did with Brett Papa, although at the moment my time and finances are a bit limited.
I was also wondering if you ever do one on one lessons?

A 1948 Indians World Series program with 2 tickets and a Cleveland Barons program. I Do Not wish to try and sell them online , just thought you would like them. Hey Larry! Gday from Toowoomba QLD Australia Just wanted to offer a tip on the nut lube situation… I used to use pencil like yourself, but it’s messy as fuck! I switched to using a dry grease stick. Its clear to white and is sold in a little paper wrapped stick at hardware stores sometimes called dri-lube solid lubricant. The one i have is made by Goss quality products. Give it a try and thanks for the awesome inspiration and music.. I can’t wait for the acoustic album to drop!! Cheers mate!

Hey Uncle Larry, just curious. I am heading to Nashville for business (odd that a 73 yr old still has business to attend to) in July. I will be staying at the Doubletree Downtown on 4th and I will be there on the nights of July 21, 22 and 23. Are there any decent music venues close to the Doubletree, or someplace I could walk to…or maybe take an UBER? I really know nothing about Nashville but if You (Tom) or someone that you really respect is playing nearby, I would like to catch it if possible. Obviously, if you were available that would be my preference but, good music is good music. Anyway…thanks for all that you do, and hope to, maybe one day, see ya around. Mike

I worked on a project with Craig Morgan last year recording some songs for suicide prevention for the military. I’ve been invited down next week for a rewrite and recording of a tune or two at sound stage studio with Craig and some others next week. The reason I’m reaching out is because I was curious if you’ve been hired on too. It would be amazing to meet you. Been watching you for years and regardless of who’s in studio I’d be stoked to hear you play live. If you aren’t in session, are you playing anywhere in town for the 19th/20th? Just finished watching Episode 622 “Kickstand Swing” with that beautiful old Guild, playing that Western swing-ish groove from the Fifties, and I’m wondering…you are so fluent in so many styles – how do you do it? Was it a conscious effort like a checklist? Or was it out of necessity to fill a role in a gig? It just continues to amaze me the breadth of your knowledge. Thanks for sharing your gift with us classmates.
